Supporting Independence in South Jersey Since 1989
Families often tell us the same thing: “We hope our child can live more independently.” “We’re worried about what happens when we’re not here anymore.”
These aren’t just wishes—they’re achievable goals with the right support.
Home to Stay became a DDD-approved provider because we saw the gap between what families need and what’s available in South Jersey. Too many adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities aren’t getting the individualized support that helps them truly thrive.
Real Support for Real Goals
Here’s what we’ve learned after decades in home care: cookie-cutter programs don’t work. Your loved one isn’t like everyone else with their diagnosis. They have specific interests, particular challenges, and unique strengths that deserve personalized attention.
When we develop a support plan, we start with what matters most to your family member. Maybe they want to work at a local business. Maybe they’re interested in cooking classes. Maybe they need help managing anxiety in social situations.
Whatever the goal, we build our services around it.
How We Help Adults with Disabilities Succeed
Career Planning & Supported Employment
Finding meaningful work isn’t just about earning money—it’s about dignity, purpose, and community connection. We help adults with disabilities identify their interests, develop job skills, and find employers who value what they bring to the workplace.
Our small group supported employment program (2-8 individuals) provides ongoing training in real business settings. We don’t just help people get jobs; we help them keep them.
Community-Based & Individual Supports
Independence looks different for everyone. For some, it’s learning to use public transportation. For others, it’s managing a household budget or building social skills.
Our one-to-one support focuses on practical skills that increase independence while strengthening family relationships and community connections. We meet people where they are and help them get where they want to go.
Community Inclusion Services
Isolation is one of the biggest challenges adults with disabilities face. Our community inclusion services connect small groups (2-6 individuals) with educational, recreational, and enrichment activities throughout South Jersey.
From art classes in Camden to hiking groups in Gloucester County, we help people find their community.
Natural Supports Training
Family caregivers need support too. We provide training for parents, siblings, and other unpaid caregivers who want to better support their loved one’s growth and independence.
Why Families Choose To Partner with Home to Stay for DDD Services
We believe in paying family caregivers what they’re worth. Many DDD providers pay family members minimum wage to care for their own loved ones. We think that’s wrong. When you’re already providing care, you deserve competitive compensation that reflects the skill and dedication you bring to the role.
We get it. You’ve probably worked with agencies that talk about your loved one’s “deficits” instead of their potential. You’ve sat through meetings where professionals made decisions without really listening to what your family wants.
We do things differently.
When we meet with your family, we talk about hopes and dreams first. What does your loved one want their life to look like? What are you worried about? What’s working well already?
Then we build services around those answers—and if you’re interested in being part of the care team, we’ll make sure you’re compensated fairly for the expertise you already have.
