Helping Seniors Use Video Chat

Over the last few years, smartphones have become very popular among senior citizens. The challenge is making sure they know how to use the phones correctly, especially now when we are unable to be with them.
Some seniors are familiar with video chat apps, such as FaceTime. Another platform they may not be familiar with is Zoom. Zoom is currently offering a free account that allows video calls with multiple different family members at once. All you have to do is create the account and invite your loved one. You can invite them by text or email and all they need to do to join the meeting is simply click a link. Its very simple (for us) but helping seniors use video chat could be very beneficial for them.
This is a great way for you to get a group of people on a call and surprise your loved one. If your loved one is in a facility, talk to their care coordinator and try to arrange borrowing or using (a sanitary) iPad or tablet to set up a video chat if you have not done so already.
