This is an activity you can do with your client. With some cookie cutters and a melon baller, this is a great activity that makes the house smell wonderful. Preparing fruit this way can stimulate appetite and give your client the great sense of accomplishment at the end result. With just two or three types of melon (cantaloupe, honey dew, watermelon) some grapes (green or red), and bamboo skewers you can create a colorful arrangement.
Prepare your space. Have a tray or cookie sheet available to lay the cut melon on. Wash all fruit. Cut melons into slices ½ to ¾ inches thick. Use melon baller to ball some of the melon. Use cookie cutters (stars, flowers) and cut out melon into the desired shapes. Assemble skewers in any fashion that you like. You can arrange on a plate or place some floral foam in a basket or bowl and stick the end of the skewer into the foam. Enjoy and refrigerate leftovers, if there are any.
