Do All Home Care Agencies Do Background Checks on Their Caregivers?

All agencies should do criminal background checks on caregivers. Some also do additional background checks for a history of elder or child abuse. In the state of New Jersey, for example – all licensed caregivers have a background check done every 2 years. Some agencies do background checks at various times during the caregiver’s employment.

Ask your home care agency what types of background checks they do, how often, and also what the state regulations say.

For more information on background checks, call Andrew at our Cherry Hill office at (856) 321-1500 OR our Red Bank office at (732) 820-9611.
